Every person has a unique situation but there are some guidelines I use; some from my spiritual counseling practitioner work, some from great teachers and some from reading the tarot for twenty plus years. I must also add that I draw heavily from Depak Chopra and four years of practitioner training.
My habit of listening and gaining a well rounded sense of the problem facilitates my approach. Often, just listening and asking key questions relieves up to half of the stress. I call it “being mom.” It also allows me to form simple questions, with the help of my querent, as to the real issue. Sometimes the real issue is not what they expect but a deeper issue behind the original question. Remember, once you begin hearing repetition, you can go on to the next stage.
It may be time to explain some spiritual laws as they relate to the querent. Such phrases as, “you are constantly re-creating your life with your thoughts….. change your mind and you change your outcome…..your old belief systems may have to change…..how are you pre-paving your future circumstances?” are meant to stimulate a deeper thinking process and create new ideas of responsibility. These ideas should remove any blame on others for creating a possible negative outcome.
My next step is to describe the way I read, which follows the trend of reading the inner and outer aspects of a situation, the obstacles or dynamics, events and how they can be recognized.
A short, two card reading outlines the situation and challenge, which Sandra Thompson, Grand Master, describes in her book, The Heart of the Tarot. Throughout the reading I continue to ask questions which the querent already has answers for since she has thought a lot about her situation.
By listening, teaching and reading with their deeper issues in mind, we can provide some clarity and often make it easier, by our understanding and comforting nature, for our querent to move forward in the right direction. Remember, we tarot readers are often the first step our querent takes towards facing difficult life situations.

Successful readings leave the querent empowered.

“The Complete Book of Tarot Reversals”
by Mary Greer, Grand Master and Tarot scholar, addresses the “other half” of the Tarot deck; the reversed cards. Many readers, particularly beginners, do not care to read reversed cards for various reasons. The major reason may be that traditionally reversed cards were read as opposite of upright meanings.
Ms. Greer offers a dozen ways to interpret reversals that really stimulate one’s intuition and often provide a deeper, more profound meaning. More material is now becoming available for Tarot readers, who up until recently, were unable to find comprehensive information on reversals. Most Tarot books only provided basic card interpretations with little to say about reversals. If reversals were mentioned they parroted the old standby interpretations that were essentially negative.
Add depth to your readings by gaining insight into the possibilities that are presented in this book.

Successful readings leave the querent empowered.
